Anushka did not want to acting, but was more interested in becoming she was interested in becoming a model or reporter. Anushka Sharma moved to Mumbai to study in Elite Model Management and be groomed under the guidance of style consultant Prasad Bidapa. Anushka's first time as a fashion model came in 2017 when she walked with Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week, and then was chosen by Rodricks to be a model in his Spring Summer 2007 collection. Anushka began to give film auditions along with her modelling. Anushka sharma made her film debut in 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The film was a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took time to get ready and did not do the test impromptu. Later on she was contracted for three films under Yash Raj Films banner. In one of them, she was the young bride of a middle-aged male (the character Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. The year 2010 was the year that Anushka Sharma starred in the film "Badmash Co together with Shahid Kapoor Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang. The film received mixed praises. That same year Anushka Sharma was seen in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat' with Ranveer Singh, in which she played the role of a middle-class Punjabi girl who launches her own wedding planning business. The film was an unexpected success with a lot of praise. Anushka's contract for three movies under Yash Raj Films was completed with Band Baaja Baaraat.
